Happy Birthday Jessica!

So today is Jessica's birthday and I think we all want to wish her a Happy Day!! :)

She has spent over four months now taking care of Brian -- lotioning his body so it doesn't get dry, washing him off when he gets sweaty, talking to him, encouraging him, doing range of motion exercises for him (even though he hates that!), and just basically loving him through this.

She has set such a great example of what true and unwavering love is like. What a wonderful example to not only us but to Olivia -- who knows without a doubt how much her parents mean to each other.

So happy birthday Jessica -- I know it's a tough road but we are here with you and for you.

With love,
everyone :)

A little update:
Brian is going be getting an increased dosage of Provigil beginning today. This will hopefully help him to concentrate and pay attention more. He is still not doing any responsive movements but he is showing emotions more and more. Although the doctors call these "reflexes," those of us that know Brian can see that it's more than that.

Dr. Holmes (the neurologist) is also calling for a re-evaluation from the physical and occupational therapists - to see if they will start working with Brian again.

Please please please pray that he will be on his best behavior for that evaluation. He could really benefit from the therapy despite what the "professionals" say.

So we are still waiting on placement -- Brian's social security (disability) was pushed through thanks to the governor's office and Rep Byrd (Cherokee County) and Sen Isakson...we will forever be greatful for their help. Now we are waiting for the Marietta office to OK the Medicaid/Medicare and we'll be on a roll.

Please pray that this will be done quickly.

Other than that, we just ask that you keep us all close to your hearts, on your minds, and in your prayers. It has been over four months and many have become too discouraged to continue to visit. I understand that feeling. But Brian is still there and would love to have some friends pop in.

Thank you all again for your prayers.
